Camas Farmers Market received charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) Status from IRS

The Camas Farmers Market is proud to announce that this month it received 501(c)(3) non-profit status from the Internal Revenue Service.  This means that we are formally a non-profit charitable organization, and donations to the market are tax-deductible.  With this 501(c)(3) status we are also eligible to pursue foundation grants and corporate contributions.

This status is retroactive for 2009, so if you made a contribution to the market this past year and would like us to send a letter acknowledging your donation, just send an e-mail to: volunteer@camasfarmersmarket.com.  Please note that $15.00 of each Gala ticket is eligible for a tax deduction.

As the year’s end approaches, please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Camas Farmers Market so we can continue our mission to provide the community access to local farmers and food producers and to encourage growing, preparing and eating locally grown and produced foods.  Your donation (which can be accepted via Paypal on our web site or by mail) will support these activities:

  • Kids Connection activity/education booth
  • Chef Demos
  • Special events like the Veggie Derby, Cookbook and Gardening Book Swap and Berry Days
  • Outreach activities to serve our entire population, such as enabling families receiving nutrition assistance to use their SNAP (food stamp) cards, WIC  (Women, Infants and Children) vouchers  to purchase market products

The Camas Farmers Market Board of Directors thanks for your visiting and supporting the market this year, and wishes you a healthy and happy 2010.
